I Spent My Week PhotographingAn Abandoned Hospital
Not very a long way from the place where I grew up, there is a forsaken doctor's facility, roosted on the highest point of a precipice and ignoring a residential community of 12,000, which my family would regularly go on our way south. Growing up, I made situations in my brain of what could live inside the building's blurred dividers and smashed windows. Throughout the years and steady rehash of these bad dreams, one viewpoint would perfectly continue as before – the animals' extended and malnourished arms.
At long last, a week prior to my eighteenth birthday, I had the chance to investigate and photo the doctor's facility that had interested my creative ability for quite a long time. These are my visual interpretations.
The subsequent little arrangement of photos, "Hosts", investigates and obscures the cloudy lines in the middle of reality and the strange, looking at what might lie just past our perspective. The arrangement reports the passing of a brutally wonderful, yet practically overlooked bit of history, while picturing and reproducing the ghostly similarity of my musings left in the building's wake.
